PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Squash Championship commenced at the Qamar Zaman Squash Court, located in the Peshawar Sports Complex. The opening ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the Provincial Squash Association and Secretary of the Public Health & Engineering Department Daud Khan who served as the chief guest. He was accompanied by DG Sports Tashfeen Haider, squash legends Jansher Khan and Qamar Zaman, Chief Organizer and Coach Munawar Zaman, General Secretary of the Provincial Association Mansoor Zaman, Chief Coach Shafqatullah, Administrator of Peshawar Sports Complex Yousaf Afridi and several other prominent personalities.

More than 200 players from across the province are participating in the championship competing in the Under-9,11and U-13 categories. During the opening ceremony, the Provincial Squash Association also distributed kits among the participating players.
The tournament will feature matches among boys in all three age categories. Addressing the ceremony chief guest Daud Khan emphasized the importance of identifying talent at the grassroots level. He stated that focusing on young players at this age could lead to the emergence of future legends. He appreciated the continuous efforts of the Provincial Squash Association in organizing events particularly for children under the age of 13.
Squash legend Jansher Khan congratulated the association and said that such events play a crucial role in the development of young athletes and help refine their skills. DG Sports Tashfeen Haider reaffirmed the department’s commitment to utilizing all available resources for the promotion and development of sports across the province.
