PESHAWAR: A ceremony was held at Malik Cricket Academy Peshawar in connection with Pakistan’s Independence Day, where the academy’s U-17 cricket team was seen off for participation in the All-Pakistan U-17 Jashn-e-Azadi Cricket Tournament.
Assistant Commissioner Matni Syed Manan and Additional Assistant Commissioner Asmatullah were the chief guests at the ceremony. The guests met the young cricketers and were introduced to the players and coaching staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Matni Syed Manan congratulated the players and expressed his best wishes for their participation in the national-level tournament. He said that sports play an important role in keeping youth engaged in healthy and positive activities while also developing discipline, confidence and leadership qualities. He urged the players to perform with dedication and bring a good name to Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Asmatullah said that young athletes are the valuable asset of the country and providing them with opportunities to compete at the national level is essential for their development. He appreciated the efforts of Malik Cricket Academy in promoting cricket among young players and encouraged the team to demonstrate sportsmanship and determination during the tournament.
Managing Director Malik Cricket Academy Malik Farman and coach Rahim Khan were also present on the occasion. They thanked the guests for encouraging the young players and said that the academy would continue its efforts to provide quality training and opportunities to emerging cricketers.
The All-Pakistan U-17 Jashn-e-Azadi Cricket Tournament features teams from different parts of the country, with Malik Cricket Academy Peshawar’s team set to represent the academy in the prestigious competition.
