PESHAWAR: An exhibition squash match was organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association in connection with Independence Day at the Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, Peshawar Sports Complex.
The exhibition match was played between Wazir Khan and Fahad Sharif. Squash legend and Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association Qamar Zaman was the chief guest on the occasion. Squash champion Mohibullah Khan,squash coach and Squash Association official Munawar Zaman and other personalities were also present.
Speaking on the occasion squash legend Qamar Zaman while extending his greetings on Independence Day, said that celebrating August 14 is our collective responsibility as this beloved country is our identity and serving our country is our duty.
Qamar Zaman said that as in previous years, an Independence Day squash match was organized this year as well. A special cake-cutting ceremony was also held to include players and officials in the celebrations of Independence Day.
He said that every possible effort was being made for the promotion and development of squash which was helping junior players make progress and bring pride to the country by excelling at the international level.
These young players are the future of Pakistan and will become world champions in the years to come Qamar Zaman said.
