PESHAWAR: The Madaris Sports Festival 2026, organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, was held at the Qayyum Sports Complex, where 120 students from various seminaries of the Peshawar region participated in cricket and football competitions.

The chief guest on the occasion was Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tashfeen Haider. Project Director Arbab Faiz, Deputy Director Chingiz Khan, Director Establishment Naimatullah Marwat, Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, and Deputy Director Operations Kashif Farhan were also present.
In the cricket final, Jamia Al-Saeed Dir Colony Peshawar defeated Jamia Shah Waliullah Asia Gate by 8 wickets to claim the title. Batting first, Jamia Shah Waliullah scored 105 runs. In reply, Jamia Al-Saeed successfully chased the target for the loss of just two wickets.
Qari Saeed played a brilliant innings of 62 runs and was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. During the closing ceremony, trophies and prizes were distributed among the winning players. Speaking on the occasion, Tashfeen Haider said that providing sports opportunities to students of religious seminaries is the need of the hour in order to engage the younger generation in positive and healthy activities.
