PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minority Sports Festival commenced at the Tahmas Khan Football Stadium in Peshawar under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Athletes from minority communities across the province are participating in competitions including cricket, volleyball, tug of war, and other sports.

The festival was formally inaugurated by former Member Provincial Assembly and President of Insaf Minority Wing, Wazirzada, along with former MPA and Secretary of Insaf Minority Wing Ravi Kumar. Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, Deputy Director Sports Kashif Farhan, Senior Vice President Waqar Khokhar, Adnan Joseph, and other notable personalities were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Wazirzada said that the provincial government is taking practical steps to provide equal sporting opportunities to athletes from minority communities, and the Minority Sports Festival is an important initiative in this regard. He thanked the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sports Advisor Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, and the provincial government for organizing such events, stating that these activities would not only help promote hidden talent but also strengthen interfaith harmony and brotherhood.
He further said that sports are one of the best ways to engage youth in positive activities, and the government is committed to providing equal sports facilities to all segments of society.
According to the festival administration, special arrangements for travel allowances (TA/DA) and accommodation have also been made to ensure the best possible facilities for athletes arriving from different parts of the province.
