PESHAWAR: On the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jihan, in his message on July 2, stated that this day holds immense significance for the promotion of sports, as it marks the founding of the International Sports Journalists Association.
He said that the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm around the world, including in Pakistan, with the aim of recognizing the professional contributions of sports journalists and highlighting their role in keeping the public informed about sporting events.
The Minister emphasized that sports are a symbol of a healthy society and by reporting on sports activities, journalists not only inspire youth towards constructive pursuits but also serve as a source of encouragement for national athletes.
He added that sports journalists are our eyes and voice on the field, who responsibly report every development taking place in the world of sports.
Syed Fakhar Jihan affirmed that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deeply values the services of the sports media alongside its efforts to promote sports across the province.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all sports journalists on this occasion and expressed hope that through mutual cooperation, the government will successfully expand sporting activities to every corner of the province.
