PESHAWAR: Peshawar Region delivered an outstanding performance in the Under-21 Games, successfully securing the General Trophy for the third consecutive time. The historic achievement came under the leadership of Regional Sports Officer Peshawar, Kashif Farhan.
According to details, after assuming charge as Regional Sports Officer in 2024, Kashif Farhan led Peshawar Region to first position in his very first year with 27 gold medals. In 2025, the region further improved its performance by winning 62 gold medals, maintaining its dominance. In 2026, Peshawar Region created history by claiming a record 124 gold medals, achieving remarkable success in both the Under-21 and Under-23 Games.
Speaking on the occasion, Kashif Farhan termed the achievement as the result of teamwork, dedication, and hard work. He congratulated the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, district administration Peshawar, all District Sports Officers of Peshawar Region, various sports associations, coaches, media representatives, assistant professors and lecturers of physical education, staff of the Regional Sports Office, and especially male and female athletes for their valuable contributions.
He said that the continuous organization of inter-club competitions in Peshawar has significantly improved grassroots-level sports development, the positive impact of which is clearly visible in athletes’ performances.
He further stated that development projects are underway at various grounds across the region, and upon completion, these initiatives are expected to further strengthen Peshawar Region’s sports infrastructure and performance in the future.
Kashif Farhan reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining Peshawar Region’s dominance at the national level and continuing efforts for further achievements in sports.
