PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association organized a prestigious ceremony at the Peshawar Sports Complex to recognize and celebrate the outstanding performances of talented tennis players from across the province.
The event was graced by the Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider, as the chief guest. He praised the players for their achievements and commended the association’s efforts in promoting tennis in the region.
On this occasion, M Faizan Afridi was specially honored for winning a silver medal at the Junior South Asian Tennis Championship, held from April 13 to 19, 2026, in Kathmandu. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs20,000, including Rs10,000 each contributed by Kashan Umar Khalil and Ijaz Ahmed Khan. The prize was presented to him by the chief guest.
Similarly, M Shayan Afridi received Rs10,000 for his impressive performance, while Zakirullah, Inam Gul, and Israr Gul were each awarded Rs5,000 in recognition of their dedication and commitment to the sport.
The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Zeb, Aminullah, Kashif Farhan, Yousaf Afridi, Shafqatullah, Senior Vice President Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil, along with coaches Roman, Shahid Afridi, and Janan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting tennis at the grassroots level and providing emerging talent with opportunities to excel at both national and international platforms.
