PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s squash contingent has departed for Egypt to participate in the Egyptian Junior Open Squash Championship 2026 and attend a three-week elite training camp. The squad includes senior squash coach Tahir Iqbal Khan and young players Danish Sikander and Ubaid Ullah from the Directorate General of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with Sohail Adnan and Muhammad Mustafa from Punjab.
The elite training camp will be conducted under the supervision of renowned Egyptian coach Omar Abdel Aziz, providing players and coaches with an opportunity to benefit from Egypt’s world-class squash coaching system.
Before departure, Tahir Iqbal Khan said the visit would be a valuable learning experience and that the knowledge gained from Egypt’s advanced coaching methods would contribute significantly to the development of squash in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He expressed gratitude to the Directorate General of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association, the Markhor Squash Foundation, and the BARD Foundation for making the tour possible. He noted that the organizations ensured the timely completion of visa processing and other travel arrangements.
Tahir Iqbal Khan also expressed confidence that participation in the championship and the elite training camp would further enhance the technical and competitive skills of both the players and coaching staff.
