PESHAWAR : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Afghan Club Chitral 5–1 in an exhibition football match to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship. The match was played at Tahmas Khan Football Stadium, where Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Asif and Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider attended as chief guests and distributed prizes among the players.

A large number of football fans witnessed the match, waving the national flags of Pakistan and China to pay tribute to the enduring friendship between the two countries. Both teams—KP Police and Chitral Club featured international players who displayed impressive skills. However, KP Police secured a convincing victory thanks to their experienced lineup. Speaking to the media, Secretary Sports Muhammad Asif said that celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Pak-China friendship are being held across the country with Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa taking the lead. He credited the China Window Cultural Center in Peshawar for this initiative. He added that efforts are underway to strengthen Pak-China friendship in the field of sports as well. The provincial government is committed to promoting sports ties and it is expected that Chinese teams will visit Peshawar and other parts of the province to play exhibition matches. He also extended congratulations to the people of China on the occasion.

Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider stated that the province aims to benefit from the expertise of Chinese coaches and plans to invite them to Peshawar in the future. He emphasized that Pak-China friendship is everlasting and a source of pride for the people of Peshawar. He also reiterated the commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties across all sectors. Earlier in the match KP Police led Chitral Club 2–1 at halftime. In the second half, KP Police scored three more goals, while Chitral Club failed to add to their tally resulting in a comfortable 5–1 victory. International player Raheel scored a hat-trick while Amir Hamza netted two goals for KP Police. Izhar, also an international player, scored the lone goal for Chitral Club. At the conclusion of the match the chief guests awarded trophies and cash prizes to the players while special awards were also presented to the participating international players.
