PESHAWAR: The All Pakistan National Men’s Squash Championship concluded successfully with Pakistan Army’s Saddam ul Haq clinching the title after a best performance. In the final Saddam ul Haq defeated fellow Army player Bilal Zakir in straight games (3–0) to claim the championship trophy. The closing ceremony held at the Peshawar Sports Complex, was graced by the Senior Vice President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association, Ehsan Ullah Khan, as the chief guest who distributed prizes among the players. Former world squash champion and legendary player Qamar Zaman, Finance Secretary of KP Squash Association and Chief Organizer Wazir Muhammad, Senior Coach Munawar Zaman and Fazal Khalil were also present on the occasion. The final match was contested between two Army players, Saddam Ul Haq and Bilal Zakir. Displaying excellent skills and dominance, Saddam ul Haq defeated Bilal Zakir in straight games. The final score was 11–7, 11–7, 11–5, giving Saddam Haq a convincing 3–0 victory. Earlier in the first semi-final, Bilal Zakir defeated Jawad Ali Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while in the second semi-final Saddam Ul Haq beat Abdullah Nawaz of WAPDA to qualify for the final. It is noteworthy that more than 90 players from across the country participated in the All Pakistan National Men’s Squash Championship and the title was ultimately claimed by a player from the Pakistan Army.
