PESHAWAR: The Provincial Tug of War Association elections have been completed. The Provincial Tug of War Association elections were held in a meeting held in Peshawar yesterday, according to which Taj Muhammad was elected Chairman, Syed Asghar Ali Shah President, Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil Advocate (Peshawar High Court) Senior Vice President, and the vice presidents include Anwar Rashid, Nasir Mahmood, Malik Khanzeb Khan Advocate (Peshawar High Court), Ijaz Muhammad Durrani General Secretary, Shams-ur-Rehman Joint Secretary, Finance Secretary Uzair Muhammad and Press Secretary Qadir Khan.
Addressing the meeting, the newly elected President of the Provincial Tug of War Association, Syed Asghar Ali Shah and General Secretary Ijaz Muhammad Durrani expressed their determination that vigorous steps will be taken for the promotion and development of tug of war across the province and efforts will be made to organize as many competitions as possible so that the players get more opportunities to come forward and they can represent the country and nation not only at the national but also at the international level.
He said that inter-school, inter-college, inter-district, provincial and then national competitions will be organized. He also thanked the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Provincial Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan, who have always supported the game of tug-of-war, thanks to which tug-of-war playgrounds are established in all regions of the province.
