PESHAWAR: In a significant development for aquatic sports in the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Swimming Association convened an important meeting today at the Adil Khan Swimming Pool, under the patronage of Muhammad Asif Orakzai. During the meeting, President Muhammad Asif Orakzai voluntarily resigned from their respective posts to make way for new leadership. Following unanimous consensus among participants, Khalid Mahmood, Commissioner, was elected as the new President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Swimming Association.
Representatives from various districts including Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), Abbottabad, Malakand, and Peshawar were present to ensure fair and inclusive decision-making. The Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was officially represented by Shafqatullah.
It was further announced that the new office bearers and executive members of the association will soon be appointed in consultation with President Khalid Mahmood, ensuring that all future selections reflect unity and professionalism.
The swimming community has welcomed this transition, expressing hope for enhanced development programs, athlete support, and organized competitions under the new leadership.
