PESHAWAR: A Minority Sports Gala for players from minority communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will commence in the second week of April in Peshawar. The event will feature cricket and football competitions, with more than 120 players from across the province expected to participate.
Speaking to the media, former Member Provincial Assembly and President Insaf Minority Wing Wazirzada, former MPA and Secretary Insaf Minority Wing Ravi Kumar, and Senior Vice President Waqas Khokhar said that the event is a significant step toward providing equal sporting opportunities to minority communities.
They expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Adviser for Sports Taj Muhammad Tarand for their support in organizing the gala. They added that this initiative aligns with the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to ensure equal access to sports facilities for all segments of society.
According to the organizers, players from Malakand, Hazara, South, and Peshawar regions will take part in the event. Complete arrangements have been made for players’ travel (TA/DA) and accommodation.
They further stated that in the first phase, cricket and football will be included, while more sports will be added in future phases to provide opportunities to athletes from different disciplines to showcase their talent.
