PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Men’s Performance Development Lacrosse Team has returned home after delivering an impressive performance and winning the bronze medal at the Okinawa Open Lacrosse Challenge Cup held in Okinawa, Japan. The players received a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport.
Before the tournament, the team participated in a two-week specialized training camp in Okinawa, where the players received modern technical and tactical training under the supervision of renowned lacrosse coaches Jin Sagawa and Chris Jenu. This training played a significant role in further improving the team’s performance during the competition.
Officials of the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation congratulated the team and coaching staff on this remarkable achievement, stating that such international training opportunities and collaborations will further promote the sport of lacrosse in Pakistan.
The Pakistani team included Engineer Taifoor Zarin (Head Coach and Team Captain), Mujeeb ur Rehman, Suleman, Faheem Ullah, Ali Hassan, Uzeer Khaleji, and Shahab.
The federation also expressed gratitude to the Japanese lacrosse community for providing excellent training facilities and warm hospitality to the Pakistani players. This achievement reflects the growing standard of lacrosse in Pakistan and the commitment of the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation to prepare Pakistani players to compete successfully at the international level.
