PESHAWAR: Boxing competitions of the ongoing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-21 Games have officially commenced in Peshawar. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider, who formally opened the event by cutting the ribbon.
On the occasion, Secretary Provincial Boxing Association Khizar Ullah, Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal, Secretary Peshawar Division Boxing Association Muhammad Ajmal, along with other dignitaries, were also present.

Organized under the auspices of the Provincial Boxing Association, the Under-21 boxing contests are being held at the Boxing Arena, where young boxers from across the province showcased their skills with great enthusiasm and fighting spirit.
In the 50kg weight category, Abdul Rehman of Peshawar defeated Saeed Khan of Bannu, while Safiullah of Mardan overcame Moeid of D.I. Khan to advance to the next round. In the 54kg category, Jiyad Hussain of Peshawar beat Mustaqbil of Malakand. In 57kg, Saad of Peshawar defeated Naseeb of Bannu.
In the 60kg bouts, Zameer of Peshawar defeated Nazeer of D.I. Khan, Inayatullah of Malakand overcame Shahid Hussain of Kohat, and Muzammil of Hazara Division beat Aziz of Mardan.

In the 65kg category, Younis Khan of D.I. Khan defeated Zubair of Bannu, Hasher of Malakand beat Usman Rasheed of Hazara Division, while Hamza of Peshawar Division overcame Sami of Kohat to qualify for the next stage. In the 70kg category, Waseem of Bannu defeated Umar Hayat of Mardan, Shahid Khalid of Kohat beat Muzammil of Hazara, and Ishaq of Peshawar defeated Subhan of D.I. Khan.
In the 80kg category, Aman of Malakand defeated Khursheed of Mardan, Kashif of Kohat Division overcame Salman of Bannu, while Aasim of Malakand Division beat Ata-ur-Rehman of D.I. Khan to move into the next round. Excellent arrangements by the Provincial Boxing Association were evident throughout the event, contributing to the high standard of competitions. A large number of sports fans witnessed the bouts, while young boxers entered the ring with passion, proving their hard work and talent.
Meanwhile, in the Under-21 Men’s Snooker competitions, Peshawar Region secured first position by winning two gold medals, Malakand finished second with one gold medal, while Hazara Region claimed third place. On this occasion, Secretary Provincial Olympic Association Zulfiqar Butt graced the event as chief guest.
