KARACHI: The 35th National Games, underway in Karachi from December 5 to 13, saw Pakistan Army tighten its grip on the overall standings as competitions entered their second day. According to the latest results, Pakistan Army tops the points table with a dominant haul of 20 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The force also showcased overwhelming supremacy in taekwondo, securing nine gold medals in the discipline. Pakistan Navy remains firmly in second place with 7 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze medals, while Pakistan Air Force sits third with 4 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa holds the fourth spot with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, followed by WAPDA in fifth with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze. Higher Education Commission (HEC) has earned 1 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze, placing it sixth in the rankings. Sindh stands seventh with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze medals, while Balochistan follows in eighth with 2 silver and 2 bronze. Police and Railways are tied for ninth place, each securing two bronze medals. The Games will continue throughout the week, with more disciplines set to shift the standings as competitions progress.
