LAHORE: In the ongoing Test at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the national team’s aging spinner Noman Ali achieved the feat of taking 10 wickets for the third time in his Test career. In the first Test match of the series against Pakistan and South Africa, the national team’s 38-year-old spinner Noman Ali achieved the feat of taking 10 wickets in a Test for the third time in just 20 matches. The left-arm spinner took 6 wickets in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa, while he dismissed 4 players in the second innings. Noman Ali broke Iqbal Qasim’s record by taking six wickets in the first innings against South Africa. This was the ninth time he took five or more wickets in Test cricket. Nouman Ali has become the left-arm spinner to take the most five wickets for Pakistan. Previously, this honour was held by Iqbal Qasim, who took five or more wickets in Test cricket eight times.
Earlier, Noman Ali had taken 10 wickets in a single Test match during Test matches against England and West Indies. Former captain Imran Khan holds the honor of taking 10 wickets the most times for Pakistan in a Test match, he has taken 10 wickets in a match 6 times. In addition, Waqar Younis, Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram have achieved this feat 5 and 5 times, Fazal Mahmood and Saeed Ajmal 4 and 4 times, while Noman Ali, Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq and Yasir Shah have taken 10 wickets in a Test match 3 and 3 times. It should be noted that Noman Ali has taken 93 wickets while representing Pakistan in 20 Test matches, in which he took 10 wickets 3 times and 5 wickets 9 times.
