PESHAWAR: Speaking on the province’s plans, he said that not only Peshawar but also other divisions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would host regular archery tournaments to attract youth towards the sport. Archery is not just a game; it is part of our cultural heritage, and it must be developed in line with modern requirements, Sarfaraz Khan emphasized.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association’s Secretary General, Sarfaraz Khan, has announced that the promotion of archery — a traditional sport deeply rooted in history and culture — is among the top priorities of the association.
He explained that the association aims to organize divisional-level tournaments to identify top talent, who will then be given opportunities to represent Pakistan at national and international platforms. We are also planning to set up modern training camps for players so that young athletes can polish their skills and make Pakistan proud on the global stage, he added.
Highlighting the immense potential in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that structured planning and consistent opportunities are essential to nurture existing talent. He further revealed that introducing archery at school and college levels is under active consideration, ensuring the sport captures the interest of the younger generation from an early age.
According to Sarfaraz Khan, a schedule for upcoming tournaments in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, D.I. Khan, and other divisions will be unveiled in the coming months. These competitions, he said, will mark a significant milestone in the promotion and revival of archery across the province.
