BAJAUR: Under the directives of Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur and the patronage of Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Shahid Ali Khan, the District Sports Officer Bajaur successfully organized the Maraka-e-Haq Independence Day Sports Festival at Government Degree College Bajaur. The festival featured exciting competitions in basketball, taekwondo, badminton, and gymnastics, drawing a large crowd of spectators
PESHAWAR: The atmosphere remained electric throughout the day as athletes showcased their skills, fitness, and determination. Taekwondo players thrilled the audience with their rapid kicks and precise techniques, basketball games highlighted the energy and teamwork of the youth, while gymnasts impressed with their agility.

The badminton matches added further excitement, making the festival a memorable sporting event. At the closing ceremony, outstanding performers were awarded trophies, medals, and cash prizes. The chief guest, Professor Dr. Anwar Shah, Principal of Postgraduate College Bajaur, attended the prize distribution ceremony alongside Director of Sports Postgraduate College Bajaur Sajid Khan, Assistant District Sports Officer Bajaur Bakht Sardar, President of Bajaur Badminton Association Liaqat Ali, President of Gymnastics Association Rizwanullah, and President of Taekwondo Association Rehan.
In his address, Professor Dr. Anwar Shah praised the event, calling it one of the finest and most peaceful sporting festivals held in Bajaur. He applauded the District Sports Officer and his team for their efforts, stressing that such events are essential for the mental and physical growth of the youth. He added that sports activities not only keep young people engaged in healthy pursuits but also promote harmony, teamwork, and discipline.
Spectators also lauded the initiative, stating that hosting sports festivals in regions like Bajaur guarantees a healthier society while fostering peace, unity, and national solidarity. They noted that such events are a meaningful way to celebrate Independence Day and inspire the younger generation to strive for excellence.
The festival concluded with the national anthem and scenes of joy, as young athletes pledged to continue working hard and to bring further pride to Bajaur and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through their sporting achievements.
