PESHAWAR: The first Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Men and Women Ju-Jitsu Championship concluded at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar. More than 80 male and female players from across the province participated in the championship, in which Peshawar performed brilliantly and secured the first position.

The special guest, Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal, distributed the prizes. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ju-Jitsu Association President Tahseenullah, Secretary Naeem Jan and other important personalities were present. The first Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Male and Female Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship organized by the provincial association was officially inaugurated by Administrator Hayatabad Sports Complex Abid Afridi.
In the two-day competition, Uzma won the first position in the women’s category in -48 kg, Laiba in -52 kg, Aisha in -57 kg, and Bushra in -63 kg, while in the men’s competition in -48 kg Hammad, Saifullah in 56 kg, Salman Khan in 59 kg, Syed Faisal in 62 kg, Habib in 85 kg won the first position. Allah Gul, Aamir, Zohaib and Abdul Samad performed the duties of judges.
In the closing ceremony, the special guest, Director Accounts Peshawar Sports Complex, Shah Faisal, distributed medals and certificates of appreciation among the successful players. This event not only proved to be an opportunity for the players to hone their skills but is also being considered an important milestone in the promotion of martial arts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
