ABBOTTABAD: The Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa successfully concluded a 15-day summer squash coaching camp in Abbottabad, aimed at promoting the sport in the Hazara region and nurturing the skills of young players.

The camp saw a large number of junior players from across the Hazara region participate, receiving intensive training under the supervision of experienced provincial coach Tahir Iqbal. Alongside him, junior coaches Amanullah and Kamran Hussain conducted specialized sessions focusing on fundamental techniques, fitness drills, and modern methods to improve gameplay.

According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department, the primary objective of this camp was to provide equal opportunities for emerging talent across the Hazara region and to ensure these players receive top-quality training under qualified coaches. The initiative aims to prepare young athletes to represent Pakistan at national and international levels in the future.
The closing ceremony was attended by District Sports Officer Abbottabad, Junaid Rahman, who distributed certificates among the participants and commended the efforts of the coaching staff. He emphasized that the Sports Department will continue organizing such training camps to further promote sports and create more opportunities for youth engagement.
Senior coach Tahir Iqbal praised the abundance of squash talent in the Hazara region, highlighting the importance of such initiatives for players’ skill development. He lauded the efforts of the Sports Department and expressed hope that similar programs in the future would bring more regional talent to the forefront.
