
Thrilling 4–3 Victory Over Bannu in the Final at Tahmas Khan Stadium

PESHAWAR: Malakand Region emerged as the champions of the Shahadai Police Inter-Regional Football Tournament, clinching a hard-fought 4–3 victory against Bannu Region in a thrilling final held at Tahmas Khan Stadium, Peshawar.
The match was fiercely competitive from the outset, with both teams launching aggressive attacks. By halftime, the score was tied 3–3, reflecting the high-energy performance from both sides. In the second half, Malakand managed to break the deadlock with a decisive goal, sealing the win at 4–3.
Aman was the standout player for Malakand, netting two goals, while Hamza and Waqas contributed one goal each. For Bannu, Sher Alam scored twice, and Sohrab added another goal to his team’s tally.
The closing ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Asian Sports Writers Federation and senior journalist Amjad Aziz Malik, who praised the performance, discipline, and sportsmanship of both teams. Also present were Police Sports Officer Muhammad Tanveer, DSO Momand Faisal Javed, and Police Cricket Coach Hashmat Shah.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Bannu defeated Dera Ismail Khan, while Malakand overcame Hazara Region to earn their spots in the final. The tournament, aimed at promoting physical fitness and regional camaraderie among police units, was lauded for its high level of competition and successful organization.
