PESHAWAR: After a thrilling and nerve-wracking match in the second quarter-final match of the Banyan Al-Marsoos Football Championship being held at Sports Complex Bannu in collaboration with 116 Brigade of Pakistan Army and Sports Department Bannu and TMA Bannu, New Afghan Club DI Khan defeated Peshawar Khyber Green Jamrud team to reach the semi-finals.

The special guest of the match was Ikramullah Khan, who was introduced to the players of both teams during the match and a group photograph was taken. He was accompanied by Regional Sports Officer Bannu Dr. Hazratullah Khattak.
In the first half of the match, the player of New Afghan Club DI Khan gave his team the lead, but soon the player of Jamrud scored and tied the match by one goal. At the end of the extra time, the match was tied at one goal each. After which the match was decided on penalty kicks.
The match was also tied at five goals on penalty kicks, however, the goalkeeper of New Afghan DI Khan saved the sixth penalty kick of Jamrud Peshawar’s Kagladi and took the team to the semi-finals. Earlier, Afghan Club Fatima Khel defeated the team from Mianwali district in the semi-finals. The third quarter-final match will be played on Wednesday between Khanji Club Lucky Marwat and Come End Mumsh Khel Bannu teams.
