PESHAWAR: Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) proudly announces a significant step forward in its commitment to education and capacity building in line with the global standards set by the Union Cyclist International (UCI). As part of this initiative, five individuals from Pakistan have successfully completed the UCI Online Cycling Mechanics Course and have been officially certified as Level 1 Coaches by the UCI.
The newly qualified coaches are: 1. Ms. Maham Tariq, 2. Nisar Ahmed, 3. Shayan Rehman, 4. Muhammad Usman, 5. Naeem Ahmed
This achievement reflects PCF’s ongoing efforts to professionalize cycling in Pakistan by equipping local trainers with internationally recognized certifications. By adopting global best practices, the Federation aims to foster a new generation of skilled and knowledgeable coaches capable of nurturing young talent across the country.
In parallel with the mechanics course, another educational program specifically designed for national cycling champions is currently underway. This training initiative has seen enthusiastic participation from more than 30 individuals, who are undergoing structured training and evaluations. The results of this program are expected to be announced by the end of this month and into the next, culminating in the certification of additional national-level coaches and the formal establishment of specialized national judges.
These significant strides in education and governance have been made possible under the visionary leadership of Syed Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Cycling Federation. His unwavering dedication has played a pivotal role in laying the foundation for a robust cycling education framework in Pakistan. His vision ensures that everyone involved in the sport—from grassroots to elite level—is not only passionate but also formally trained and qualified in accordance with UCI standards.
Looking ahead, these certified individuals will be entrusted with leading training initiatives and contributing to the sport’s administrative structure. This milestone marks a crucial chapter in PCF’s journey towards excellence, professionalism, and international recognition.
