PESHAWAR: The ongoing Peshawar Media Sports Festival organized under the auspices of the Khyber Union of Journalists (KHUJ) and the Sports Writers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed the conclusion of tug of war, archery and musical chair competitions. Held with the cooperation of the District Sports Office Peshawar, the recent events saw an intense competition in the tug of war category where PPC Green led by captain Yasir Ali clinched the trophy. They defeated KHUJ Red in a thrilling final with a score of 2-0 to become the champions. The KHUJ Red team was captained by senior journalist Lihaz Ali.

In the musical chair event Muhammad Hassan secured first place while Sohail Rana finished second. In the women’s archery event Shaista Tasleem won the gold medal and Mehwish claimed the silver. In futsal SWA Green defeated KHUJ White, while in the throwball event KHUJ Green beat PPC Red to qualify for the final.
The festival was officially inaugurated by Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tashfeen Haider. He was accompanied by ADC General Rao Hashim, Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan, KHUJ President Kashif-ud-Din Syed, PPC Peshawar President M. Riaz, District Sports Officer Peshawar Mishal Malik, Chief Coach Shafqat Ullah, Director Sports Merged Districts Razi Ullah, General Secretary of the KHUJ Irshad Ali, and President of the Sports Writers Association and Chairman Sports Committee KHUJ Asim Shiraz among other notable personalities and members.
The festival features a variety of games including badminton, tug of war, swimming, throwball, musical chair, and futsal. The competitions will continue for three days.
